«LIKE TO THE DRIVER»
(initiating country: Russia)
The international project "Like to the driver" was invented in Perm Krai, as of December 2021 it has been successfully implemented in 43 regions of Russia and 4 other countries. It aims to promote the safe behavior of road users. The project involves the following tasks:

1) to form a new tradition of mutual courtesy between drivers and pedestrians. When a pedestrian crosses the carriageway through an unregulated crossing (zebra crossing), he thanks the drivers for complying with the Rules of the road with a symbolic "thumbs up" (like) gesture. This improves the atmosphere on the roads and creates a positive contact between drivers and pedestrians.

2) to organize events aimed at popularizing this tradition. Together with traffic police officers, activists conduct flash mobs, distribute booklets and memos, conduct quizzes on the knowledge of the traffic rules among pedestrians and stopped drivers. For correct answers, participants receive souvenirs with the symbols of the project.

3) to launch a system of lectures and seminars on road safety in schools and children's camps. Volunteers of the project, representatives of the traffic police and teachers take part in conducting these lectures and practical sessions. For the "Like to the driver" project, an interactive "Crash Course" was developed, which provides a deep immersion of teenagers in the problems of safe behavior on the roads.
