IPC member from Nigeria Alabidun Mahfouz spoke at the conference “Understanding and Tackling Rampaging Global Poverty Through Education”



IPC participant from Nigeria, Founder of the Inmates Educational Foundation, Alabidun Mahfouz, spoke at the 8th Annual International Conference of Lagos State University Faculty of Education (Nigeria) on the topic: “Understanding and Tackling Rampaging Global Poverty Through Education.” During the plenary sessions, he presented a report on the topic: “Poverty Alleviation Through Inmates Education: A Nigerian Correctional Center in Focus” and shared statistics of people convicted of crimes.

Alabidun also made some recommendations on compulsory education for prisoners, which includes academic, vocational education and soft skills.
