From May 21 to 23 in Banghkok, Thailand UN WOMEN ASIA hosted the Regional Conference Gen Forum 24: “Young Leaders for Women, Peace and Security in the Asia-Pacific.” IPC participant from Malaysia, Chief Advisor of the Malasian Youth Diplomacy movement, founder of the youth movement Disarmament Doves, member of the Masa Depan Institute Elisa Shafiqah represented Malaysia at the conference as an expert to contribute to the discourse with internship experience with Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security, Ministry of Defence Malaysia.
This conference tackled various issues and providing areas of capacity building in peacebuilding and climate negotiations in UN, G7, G20, ASEAN and currently in the UN SummitOfTheFuture.
The conference also facilitated discourse to chart ways moving forward on how to empower young leaders in 'WomenPeaceSecurity' within emerging areas like Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE), Youth Population and Outer Space .
