Representatives of Azerbaijan in the IPC organized an online conference on the day of the end of World War II
The II international online conference dedicated to the end of World War II was held in Zoom. A series of such events is being held as part of the creation of the International Project Congress, which includes youth organizations and young leaders from Russia, Venezuela, China, Azerbaijan and Belarus.
The initiator of the discussion on the topic of collaboration was the Azerbaijani side, the moderator was Kamran Ismayilov from Baku University. At the site of the Association of Russian Youth of Azerbaijan, reports were presented on the problem of glorification of the accomplices of fascism: in particular, the ex-director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani historian Farkhad Mammadov revealed the problem of glorification of Nazism in the Transcaucasus. Representatives of Russian ethnic organizations in Azerbaijan Sergey Danilov and Anastasia Lavrina presented a series of projects to preserve historical memory, which the participating countries were invited to implement jointly.
The Belarusian Republican Youth Union presented reports on the falsification of history and the fight against justifying collaboration in Brest and Vitebsk. The head of the Brest Belarusian Republican Youth Union, Yuri Segenyuk, expressed hope that after the pandemic, the visit of a delegation of young Perm historians to the Brest Fortress, planned at the IPC, would nevertheless take place.
Russian representatives also spoke at the conference. Ilya Lisnyak, a deputy of the Perm City Duma, spoke about a series of provocations for the anniversary of the Great Victory, carried out by malefactors through the sites "Immortal Regiment" and "Bank of Memory", in which participants from different cities appeared. The deputy noted that the investigating authorities have already taken the necessary measures and brought the case to court.
At the same time, the representative of Russia in the IPC Mikhail Netsvetaev noted that the activities of the International Project Congress should not be limited solely to the theme of the Victory anniversary: We have a number of successful cases that have grown from a regional initiative into federal or even international projects. In the coming months, I propose to hold a constituent assembly with the participation of representatives of all five countries and form a system for the exchange of socially significant projects.
