Representatives of the IPC Secretariat spoke at the KOLBA forum for women scientists

On April 21, the Forum for Women in Science and Technology "KOLBA" was held in Moscow. Within the framework of the forum, a plenary session "SCIENCE TODAY - WORKING ON ERRORS OR A NEW ROUND OF DEVELOPMENT", as well as panel sessions "Sustainable development and ecology", "Cybersecurity and meta-data", "Transfer of knowledge into education", "Medicine", "Business and science - effective communications”. Head of the IPC Public Diplomacy Department, Chairman of the Perm Youth Center, member of the Expert Council of the KOLBA Award Anna Abrazhenchik spoke as a speaker at the panel session “Women and ESG”, during which the participants discussed the role of gender equality in the implementation of environmental and social projects. Also, the Head of the Project Management Department, a deputy of the Perm City Duma Mark Korobov was present at the forum as an Honored Guest.

In addition, a solemn ceremony of awarding 49 laureates of the KOLBA award was held at the forum. The mission of the award is to popularize science in Russia, to form role models for future women scientists, to create human and intellectual capital in the country, to support women scientists in media and highlight scientific developments and innovations.

In total, this year 234 applications were submitted from 60 cities of Russia and Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, of which the Expert Council selected 84 nominees in 17 nominations and 3 special nominations “Innovations”, “Women Scientists of the Arctic” and “Engineering”.
