The seventeenth convention was held from 8 to 10 January in Indore, India. Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) is celebrated every two years to strengthen the engagement of the overseas Indian community with the Government of India and reconnect them to their roots. During the convention, the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award is also presented in recognition of the contribution of members of the community in various fields both in India and abroad.
