Regional Workshop on Effective Communications for Effective Prevention of Violent Extremism in Southeast Asia, organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, was held in Bali, Indonesia from 12 to 14 December. During the seminar, victims and affected communities shared their experiences and mechanisms to combat violence, best practices from a legal, policy, community outreach as well as feminist perspectives. IPC participant from Malaysia, head advisor of the Malasian Youth Diplomacy movement, founder of the youth movement Disarmament Doves Elisa Shafiqah shared best practices with colleagues ranging from law enforcers, policymakers and peacebuilders across ASEAN.
