IPC representatives from Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan took part in organizing COP29

The 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference was held from 15 to 22 November in Baku, Azerbaijan. Delegations from all 198 countries that signed the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change took part in the conference. The conference included exhibitions, seminars, and cultural events on the topics of water scarcity in the region, innovations in renewable energy, nature and biodiversity, and conservation of the ocean ecosystem.

The Conference was organized by the IPC representative from Kyrgyzstan, Head of the Youth Policy Department of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Askar Shaikidinov, who organized a side event in the Kyrgyz Republic pavilion on the topic “Youth and Children in Global Climate Processes: Promoting Sustainable Development in Mountainous Regions.” The event was attended by representatives of relevant government agencies from Central Asia and other countries, international youth organizations, and young leaders.

Also among the organizers is the representative of the IPC from Azerbaijan, social entrepreneur Farida Askerzade. Farida acted as the leader of the organization "Women and Climate" and the host of the event from the NGO "Climate reality".
