Representatives of all 34 participating countries took part in the conference online, and participants from India, Côte d'Ivoire, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan joined the event in person at the Civic Chamber.
According to the results of the voting of the conference delegates, the honorary right of chairmanship in the IPC for 2023 passed from Russia to South Africa. Raymond Matlala, chairman of the South African BRICS Youth Association, became the new chairman. On March 3, in Pretoria (the capital of South Africa), a solemn ceremony of transferring chairmanship to the newly elected chairman will take place.
Representatives from India and China were elected vice-chairs: Elixir Foundation President Madish Parikh and Chinese Students Union Chairman Lei Zhong.
The Russian side retained the functions of the secretariat. Ilya Lisnyak, ex-Chairman of the IPC, was appointed Secretary of the IPC. In the near future, the coordinators of the IPC activities will be appointed in the secretariat.
The previous management of the IPC reported on the results of activities for 2022 in all areas. The portfolio of international project exchange includes 35 projects, a third of them have already been accepted for implementation by IPC participants from different countries. Also, on February 16, as part of the media direction, the implementation of joint master classes with the Russia Today International Media Group for journalists and students of journalism began. The next workshops for journalists from Brazil and Francophone African countries are scheduled for March and April.
